What might a weekend look like without any central figure directing us and rather, a collective of our members taking turns guiding our time? This will also be the official launch of our first publication. Everyone gets a copy!
Scenius member, Bianca Winter, recently finished a residency at OlioHouse in which she created and curated our library now known as the apiary. The apiary is inspired partly by the concept of chance. The chance encounter of finding the very book you didn't even know you needed while perusing a random bookshelf, for example. We'll celebrate the magic of 'Chance' with a weekend where participants can lead a short activity related to the theme of chance (take it any way you'd like). Come with an open heart and mind, come to see what may be. OlioHouse is open to chance makers and risk takers... Come craft a moment of uncertainty, sharing the chance encounters and processes that have helped you make work and make sense of the world!
This will also be the official launch of our first publication. An essay on the relationship we have with our book collections, read and unread. It was written by Bianca Winter and printed by Dylan Smith, both scenius members who have done residencies at OlioHouse. They will speak about their experiences and Bianca will do a reading. We made a limited run of 25 and everyone in attendance will get a copy of the publication.
No Professor Weekend
What might a weekend look like without any central figure directing us and rather, a collective of our members taking turns guiding our time? We know that creativity abounds in the Scenius and this weekend will allow us to showcase our favorite creative pastimes, teach and learn with each other, and practice the power of community.
