This Valentine’s Day, we'll spend the night examining love from a scientific perspective, while potentially forming deep and meaningful connections with your fellow attendees. We'll take a look at the formation (and potential) demise of romantic pairings and focus on the life-cycle of a relationship.
We will examine the factors of interpersonal attraction, first date experiences, and the development of relationships over time. Beyond this, we will investigate what may tip the scale to create fractures within a relationship, leading to their demise. We will also cover the famous (and viral) 36 questions to make you fall in love, the actual intended purpose of these questions, as well as try them out during a partnered exercise. In this Olio we will question some of the subconscious factors that play into relationships and leave with a deeper understanding of our own patterns.
Think Olio is here to put the liberation back into the liberal arts.
Classically, the liberal arts, were the education considered essential for a free person to take an active part in civic life. To counter a humanities that has been institutionalized and dehumanized we infuse critical thinking, openness, playfulness, and compassion into our learning experience.
